After the cancellation of the 'It's Rock' concerts, the 'Foreningen 5-øren' took over the event with Ringo & His All Star Band, where the two original concerts were swapped to just one. The concert was moved to the '10-øren', an outdoor concert stage at the Amager Strandpark. It became a free concert, with revenue based solely on the sale of drinks.
Ringo and his band arrived from Berlin on July 16th and were accommodated at the Hotel Royal. They used the hotel in Copenhagen as their headquarters, and from Copenhagen they flew by chartered plane to their concerts in Pori, Finland on July 17th and the Gröna Lund, Sweden, on July 19th.
Several members of the band were spotted in Copenhagen on July 18th, while shopping.
A severe thunderstorm hit the concert area in the afternoon, so most of the warm-up music had to be cancelled. An hour before Ringo and the band were due to perform, the weather cleared up, so the concert could be carried out as planned, starting at 7:50 p.m. Many people left the area when the storm broke, which of course affected the sale of drinks.
On July 20th the band travelled from Copenhagen, also by chartered plane, to De Panne in Belgium.

Part 1
Part 2
It was the summer where two big things happened: Denmark became European champions in football and Ringo Starr and his All-star Band played at the 10-øren. Ringo had gathered these fine musicians: Todd Rundgren, Nils Lofgren, Joe Walsh, Zak Starkey, Timmy Cappello, Dave Edmunds, Burton Cummings and Timothy B. Schmit. Several of these musicians are among my favorites and rather famous in other contexts. The prelude was special. It had been raining cats and dogs all day, most of the warm-up had been canceled, but a little over an hour before Ringo & Co. went on stage, the rain stopped and the spectators could enjoy the concert in fine weather. The atmosphere was great. The concert was free, so to support the 5-Øren association (organizer), you could buy drinks on site, rather than bring your own. So, I did. Musically, Ringo and the band delivered the goods and fully met my expectations. My friend next to me must have enjoyed the concert too, because his sunglasses were fitted with a microphone, so he could listen to the concert again when he got home!
