22. With A Little Help From My Friends

I was there quotes

- Carsten Hansson

On Sunday, August 9, 1998, a lot of expectant Beatles fans gathered at Sjælør Station in Copenhagen.

The purpose was a trip to Denmark's Most Beautiful Festival in Skanderborg. Arno Guzek and the Beatles Again fan club had rented a bus, so we all set off together.

My friend, the keen photographer Lars Flænø, had brought some photographs that he took of Ringo in 1992 at Ti-øren on Amager. At a house behind the stage, Ringo came out and Lars was quick to take out the photographs, and they were signed by a friendly Ringo.

Ringo had changed his line-up a bit compared to when we had seen him before. Peter Frampton from the group Herd was the guitarist and Jack Bruce from the group Cream played bass. Simon Kirke was the other drummer.

It was a shorter concert than usual due to the midnight curfew, but still a great experience.
