Ticket sales started on Monday, December 12th , 2011 at 11:00 AM, and the concert with all 600 tickets was sold out. The ticket price was 250,- DKK.

Pete Best and band arrived at Billund Airport from Luton on May 2nd, the day before the concert. They were accommodated privately in the organizer's home. The return trip went via Kastrup Airport on May 4th.
This was the only concert the band played in Denmark.
Inside 'Den Engelske'
The concert was not held at the pub, but in a tent, put up at the Ryes Plads, opposite 'Den Engelske'. To keep the budget low, the Pete Best Band traveled without gear. Support was the Sgt. Pepper Band, and it was agreed that the Pete Best Band could use their gear. In addition to the Sgt. Pepper Band's gear, Pete Best played drums on a set borrowed from Michael Johansen from the local band, Barock.

When I first mentioned to my family that we could get the Pete Best Band to play a concert at our pub, there was not much understanding, but after a while I got permission and support from both my wife and sons who are co-owners of 'Den Engelske' Pub in Fredericia. Pete Best's brother, Roag, played in the Pete Best Band and was also their manager. Through him we made an agreement where we got a reasonable price that included transport, food and accommodation – as well as free beer!
They played a 90-minute set, filled with the songs that Pete played during his time with The Beatles. For the last song, Twist And Shout, my sons Mark and Rune and I were called on stage so that we could give it a go with the band.

The band stayed at our house from the day before the concert until they returned home via Copenhagen the day after the concert. It was nice to get to know them. All in all, it was a fantastic experience!
On Thursday, May 3rd, 2012, the Pete Best Band played in a large tent outside 'Den Engelske' at Ryes Plads in Fredericia. I arrived in Fredericia in the afternoon with my daughter Charlotte, who is also a big Beatles fan just like her dad :-) After eating at 'Den Engelske', we were lucky enough to run into the band right after their soundcheck. Since I'm always on the lookout for autographs, I had brought a small bag of various Pete Best stuff for Pete to sign, just in case I got lucky.

And luckily for me, Pete wrote on everything I had brought so there was not a dry eye in the house. This meant that we could enjoy the concert to the fullest, as we now didn't have to seek out Pete late at night when it was all over.
