The band went from Hotel Hesselet in Nyborg and arrived at the Hotel Atlantic in Aarhus early in the afternoon. After a short stay at the hotel, they drove to the Vejlby-Risskov Hallen, where they held a sound check. After the concert, they drove directly back to the hotel, and after staying overnight, they drove to Düsseldorf in Germany.
This was the final night of the tour where the band and crew stayed together at the same hotel. After that, Paul and his family stayed at the best hotel, while the rest of the band and crew stayed in less luxurious surroundings.
Tickets were priced at 60, 50, 45, and 35 Danish kroner. The concert was sold out (4000 tickets)
As usual, the Wings bus was parked close to the concert venue. Details about the Wings bus can be found here.

Monday, August 14th , 1972, was not going to be a normal Monday. As a passionate Beatles fan since 1964, I had of course secured tickets for tonight's concert with my great idol, Paul McCartney and his new group Wings. I lived in Horsens, but went to Technical School in Aarhus, and when school finished I went to the Vejlby-Risskov Hallen to pass time before the concert. There were only a handful of fans outside the hall when an old, converted English double-decker bus pulled into the parking lot in the middle of the afternoon. It was Paul McCartney himself and his band who arrived without the large security hullabaloo that you see today. Nowadays, big stars are constantly monitored by a bunch of sturdy bodyguards who keep even the most die-hard fans yards away. Paul, Linda and the band jumped out of the bus, strolled towards the entrance and greeted the fans who had arrived. Paul with his daughter Stella in his arms. Paul turned to me and said "Hello, it's nice to be in Aarhus". I was speechless! So I just nodded and smiled. Meeting my biggest idol face to face. Wow!
There were 7-8 of us who were also invited inside for the afternoon sound check. The repertoire was a few Wings songs but mainly old rock and roll standards. Very relaxed atmosphere. Linda played the drums on a few songs. Mobile phones with cameras were not invented at that time, so I only have a few old, slightly blurry photos from the event, taken with a pocket camera and a film with 16 shots. Unfortunately, I had no pen and paper at hand, so no autographs that day. That has tormented me ever since. I had a seat in the 17th row, but quite quickly I managed to get all the way up in front of the first rows, where we sat in a small group a few yards from the stage. I have photos that show the audience with tape recorders, cameras and bottles of beer. I got no reprimand, nor was I sent back to my seat(I do not own any rights to the pictures and therefore cannot show them).
