The concert in Horsens on June 30th was announced on April 18th. Ticket sales started on April 28th, with prices at DKK 595,-, 695,- and 795,- at billetlugen.dk, as well as in selected Fona stores. Deluxe tickets were available for £500 at paulmccartney.com.
The concert sold out quickly, and an extra concert was announced for July 1st. Ticket sales for this started on May 3rd with the same ticket prices. According to the organizer, the extra concert was not sold out.
On June 14th, both concerts were postponed, and later canceled. The official reason was that Paul wanted to start a new tour with more dates, and the two shows in Horsens would then be incorporated into the upcoming tour. The two concerts in Horsens were the only two "On The Run" concerts planned for Europe in the summer of 2012, and the new concert tour never got off the ground.
The organizer Horsens & Friends lost a considerable amount of money on the practical preparations for the concerts, and they allegedly turned down the offer of a new concert with Paul in 2016.

After two successful and sold-out outdoor Paul McCartney concerts at the city's stadium – Forum Horsens – in 2004, the organizers Horsens & Friends, led by Frank Panduro, tried to repeat the success at the same venue eight years later. Of course, I had tickets to both concerts. And our 11-year-old grandson was going to one of the concerts. He loved The Beatles after being filled with Beatles movies when he visited us. He knew all the scenes and lines from the cartoon Yellow Submarine. He was with me at the Ringo Starr concert in Randers in 2011, and now he was finally going to see Paul McCartney himself live with his grandfather. What a family experience to have together!
On June 14th, 2012, the shock came. Both concerts in Horsens postponed! Only 2 weeks before we were due to leave. It was sad news. According to organizer, Frank Panduro, the postponement was due to practical and production-related reasons. We had to believe it at first, but as time went by without new dates in the calendar, rumors began to flourish. "Not enough tickets were sold", "Paul doesn't want to perform in front of a half-filled stadium", "the economy was under pressure", etc. Later it went from being a postponement to a cancellation. The tickets were refunded, but fans were promised that the possibility of holding the concerts later was still valid. The offer of a new concert came a few years later, but the organizer was financially squeezed at the time and did not dare to take the chance again. Instead, Roskilde Festival jumped in in 2015 and Herning in 2016 with Paul McCartney concerts.
In addition to the cancellation in Horsens, there was great political unrest when the business model meant that the municipality had "loaned" the organizer Horsens & Friends DKK 5 million for the McCartney project. After the cancellation, there was uncertainty as to whether the money would be repaid. The solution is still a bit in the fog!
