From September 2nd to September 6th, 'CB & Ole B.' arranged five shows with Tony Sheridan backed by The Lunchbreaks. In the backing band was Ingvar Kristensen (Rythm guitar), Michael Raadam (lead guitar), Ivan Kristensen (bass) and Peter Thomsen (drums). First The Montana Band was hired for the tour, but they canceled, and The Lunchbreaks was hired with short notice.
Tony arrived by train from Germany, and traveled together with The Lunchbreaks in a rented van. They spent the nights at local B&B's or motels.
First The Lunchbreaks did approximately 20 minutes of standard Rock'n'Roll songs, then Tony Sheridan came on stage and together they performed for around 75 minutes
Among the songs Tony Sheridan performed was...
Slippin' And Sliding Ya Ya My Bonnie Cry For A Shadow What I'd Say Hallelujah I Loved Her So The Saints Skinny Minnie Sweet Georgia Brown Johnny B Good Yesterday
Yesterday was performed by Tony Sheridan on electric guitar, about halfway through the set, while the band stood waiting for the next song.
The concert in Hvidovre on Dec. 6th was not arranged by 'CB & Ole B.', but came about when the city of Hvidovre celebrated its 800th anniversary. Tony performed with a local band. They arrived by tube, going from Copenhagen Central to the Hvidovre Station
During the tour, Tony Sheridan was interviewed by the Danish Beatles Fan Club 'Beatles Society'. The interview can be read here
In September 1986, a dream came true for me when I supported Tony Sheridan on a short tour in Denmark with my then band, The Lunchbreaks. By pure chance, we were hired to support Tony on a short tour since the original backing band, the Montana Band, had canceled. There was no time to practice, so Tony and I sat down with a couple of guitars and made a repertoire. These were songs from Tony's career, as well as some Rock'n'roll classics. I remember Tony as a very pleasant person and easy to deal with. We played for 20 minutes at first, and then Tony went on, at full speed. He sang and played fantastically. We supported him once again a few years later, at the Rådhuskroen in Copenhagen, with the same success. This was only a single gig, then Tony went to the Faroe Islands. I am proud to have tried this. Tony was kind enough to sign his LP for me
